Giants Trade OL Daniel Faalele to Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars have reportedly finalized a trade to acquire offensive lineman Daniel Faalele from the New York Giants. This move comes as the team seeks to enhance its offensive line after guard Patrick Mekari underwent back surgery.
According to Evan Barnes of Newsday, the Giants will receive a late-round pick in the 2027 draft in exchange for Faalele. He has been a starter at guard for the Ravens over the past two seasons and joined the Giants as a free agent this offseason after following coach John Harbaugh.
With first-round pick Francis Mauigoa and Jon Runyan expected to start at guard for the Giants, Faalele became a surplus asset. The duration of Mekari's absence remains uncertain, but if he is placed on injured reserve, he would miss at least the first four games of the upcoming season.
