Gilbert Burns Seeks Wrestling Match with Colby Covington
Gilbert Burns has expressed a desire to resolve his ongoing rivalry with Colby Covington on the wrestling mats, indicating his openness to compete in RAF Wrestling.
The former UFC welterweight title contender mentioned his readiness to participate in the freestyle promotion, which has seen involvement from various current and former UFC fighters. Burns, who retired from MMA earlier this year, noted that his wrestling skills remain sharp despite not showcasing them in recent fights.
Burns has previously called out Covington during his UFC career, and he specifically targeted Covington as a potential opponent for RAF Wrestling. Covington currently holds a 4-0 record in RAF and is set to face Belal Muhammad in the main event of RAF 13 on September 19. Additionally, Burns mentioned Khamzat Chimaev as another possible opponent while balancing his commitments running a gym in Florida.
