Glenn Maxwell Announces Retirement from International Cricket
Glenn Maxwell has officially retired from international cricket as of November 3, 2026, after being excluded from Australia's upcoming T20 series against England.
The 38-year-old batsman, who last played a Test match in 2017, had previously ended his one-day career last year but remained available for T20 selections. He was not chosen for the squad for the series against England, which was announced on November 2, 2026, as selectors opted for younger players.
Maxwell played 130 T20 internationals, scoring 2,897 runs with a strike rate of 154.42, making him Australia's third-highest run-scorer in this format. He also participated in 149 ODIs, accumulating 3,990 runs, and has decided to retire from first-class cricket with Victoria while continuing to play for the Melbourne Renegades in the Big Bash League.
