Gnaraloo Station, a famous surfing location in Western Australia, is now on the market after Paul Richardson's two-decade ownership. The property, known for its stunning coastline and waves, is listed for between $A15 and $20 million.

Richardson initially purchased the station in 2003, drawn by its beauty and potential. Over the years, he expanded the facilities from three cabins to around thirty, enhancing the site while maintaining its natural appeal. However, the property sits on Crown land, meaning the buyer will not own the land outright but will acquire a lease that runs until 2046, with Richardson seeking an extension to 2065.

Interest in the property has been high, with inquiries from various parties, including world champion surfers and former surf-brand owners. Despite the buzz, serious offers have been limited, often falling through due to financial issues. Environmental concerns have also been raised, with local advocates highlighting the degradation of the area, which has been exacerbated by drought and overgrazing. The unique combination of surfing, fishing, and environmental stewardship presents a complex challenge for potential buyers.
