Gold Coast coach Damien Hardwick has questioned the AFL's policy that requires teams to announce their Sunday squads on Thursday evenings. This situation has created challenges for the Suns, who are set to face GWS on Sunday.

The Suns conducted their main training session on Friday, which added pressure on the football department staff to finalize a squad of 26 players. Hardwick noted that while they included first-year players Zeke Uwland, Dylan Patterson, and Jai Murray, adjustments to the squad might still be necessary.

Hardwick highlighted the difficulties of naming a squad without having trained, emphasizing that this policy leads to increased workload and communication demands. He pointed out that many clubs face similar issues, especially when dealing with injuries.
