Good Good Golf Executives Depart Following Advertisement Controversy
Good Good Golf has parted ways with CEO Matt Kendrick and President Joe Flannery due to backlash from a controversial advertisement. The announcement was made by Alex Puchala, the head of finance and operations, who expressed the difficulty of the situation for the company.
The controversy began with an advertisement released on August 21 for a golf driver co-branded with Callaway, which featured a scene perceived as violent towards a woman. This led to public outrage, multiple apologies from both Good Good and Callaway, and ultimately, Callaway severing ties with Good Good.
In the wake of these events, Nahid Giga has been appointed as the interim CEO. Additionally, Good Good has lost its title sponsorship for an upcoming PGA Tour event and has seen its products removed from major retailers. Puchala noted the company's commitment to moving forward and building its future.
