Great Britain Secures Three Golds at European Rowing Championships
Great Britain achieved notable success at the European Rowing Championships held in Italy, winning gold medals in both the women's four and PR3 mixed coxed four events, as well as a victory from a men's four development team.
The women's four crew, consisting of Eleanor Brinkhoff, Angharad Broughton, Sarah Marshall, and Holly Youd, led the race and successfully fended off competition from Germany to secure their gold medal.
In the PR3 mixed coxed four, the team of Frankie Allen, Charlotte Coburn, Josh O'Brien, Jonty Ridley, and cox Omar Al-Miqdadi showcased a strong performance, finishing nearly six seconds ahead of Italy. The men's four crew, featuring Theo Bell, Josh Brangan, Sam Ford, and Tom O'Sullivan, maintained their lead despite pressure from Romania in the final stages. This event in Varese precedes the 2026 World Championships scheduled for late August in the Netherlands, where the men's team is currently training in Switzerland.
