Great Britain Sevens Players Adapt to Part-Time Status

Great Britain Sevens players are navigating the challenges of part-time contracts after the full-time program was discontinued last summer due to budget cuts. This change has forced athletes to seek additional employment while only training together during tournaments.

The men's and women's teams have faced difficulties on the international stage, finishing last in the top tier of the Svns global series. With the men's team previously winning silver at the 2016 Rio Olympics and the women's team achieving fourth place twice, the reduction in training has raised concerns about their competitive edge.

Additionally, a new short-form sevens circuit called Ultimate Sevens is set to launch, featuring events in various European cities.
