Great Britain Women's Team Falls Short in Flag Football Semi-Finals
The Great Britain women's flag football team was unable to secure a spot in the upcoming Olympics after losing to the USA in the semi-finals of the World Championships held in Germany.
After advancing to the semi-finals by defeating Panama 26-20, GB initially led against the USA with a score of 21-7 in the first half, thanks to touchdowns from Grace Conway, Angelica Tait, and Emily Kemp. However, the USA rallied to win the match 27-21.
With the USA already qualifying for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics as hosts, the bronze-medal game on Sunday will determine the final Olympic spot available for women. The GB men's team also competed, losing to Switzerland but later defeating Austria. They will face Brazil next to determine their final ranking.
