Greg Norman Comments on LIV Golf's Future

Greg Norman, the former CEO of LIV Golf, has shared his bleak outlook on the league he helped establish, indicating that he would rather see it end than continue to decline. In a recent interview, he expressed feelings of sadness and disappointment regarding the league's trajectory.

Since its launch in June 2022, LIV Golf introduced a new format to the sport, including shorter tournaments and a team structure. However, following Norman's departure as commissioner in January 2025, the league has faced significant challenges, including the cessation of funding from Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, which had invested over $5 billion.

In response to financial pressures, LIV Golf has made cuts, including the elimination of its $40 million Michigan Team Championship. Despite the difficulties, Norman remains proud of the league's impact on professional golf, noting that it prompted the PGA Tour to enhance its prize offerings and event structures.
