Guardians Achieve Doubleheader Sweep Against Tigers with Walk-Off Victories

CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Guardians completed a doubleheader sweep against the Detroit Tigers on Friday, winning both games with walk-off finishes. In the second game, Travis Bazzana's single in the 10th inning brought home Brayan Rocchio, leading to a 4-3 victory.

Bazzana had previously tied the game with a two-run homer in the eighth inning. Rocchio, who reached base on a fielder’s choice, stole both second and third before scoring. In the first game, Rocchio contributed significantly with a solo homer in the ninth and a grand slam in the fourth, helping the Guardians secure a 7-6 win.

This marked the first time since August 19, 1984, that the Guardians won both games of a doubleheader in walk-off fashion. Hunter Gaddis earned the win in the nightcap, maintaining the Guardians' position in the American League wild-card race. The Tigers initially led the second game 3-0 before the Guardians rallied.
