Guenther Steiner Advises Cadillac to Shift Focus to 2027 F1 Car
Guenther Steiner has suggested that Cadillac should cease development of its 2026 Formula 1 car and concentrate on the 2027 model. The former Haas team principal believes this shift is necessary given the team's current struggles.
Cadillac, which entered the championship in 2026 with drivers Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas, has faced significant reliability problems, resulting in the team sitting 11th in the constructors' standings without any points. Following the replacement of team principal Graeme Lowdon with Marcin Budkowski, Steiner anticipates that the team will soon announce a focus on the 2027 season.
Steiner noted that expectations for Cadillac's performance were likely inflated, suggesting that management underestimated the challenges of competing in Formula 1. He expressed that the team should prioritize future developments rather than attempting to salvage the current season.
