Guenther Steiner Comments on Lewis Hamilton's Radio Messages During Dutch GP
Guenther Steiner has expressed that Lewis Hamilton's critical radio messages regarding Ferrari during the Dutch Grand Prix were not beneficial for him. The former Haas Formula 1 team principal noted that Hamilton's frustration was evident as he urged Ferrari to let him overtake teammate Charles Leclerc, who was on a different strategy.
When Ferrari eventually called Leclerc into the pits, Hamilton remarked that too much time had been wasted. He also questioned whether he was being used as a 'guinea pig' while remaining on older hard tyres. Steiner compared Ferrari's organization unfavorably to that of Mercedes, suggesting that better pre-race discussions could have mitigated the situation.
Steiner pointed out that Hamilton's critical tone on the radio might have been perceived negatively by the team, indicating that a more collaborative approach could have been more effective. Hamilton later acknowledged his radio comments on social media, admitting that his frustration got the better of him and stating his commitment to improve in the future.
