GWS Football Club Announces Departures of Players and Assistant Coach
The GWS Giants will part ways with players Jake Stringer and Jesse Hogan, as confirmed by the club's football boss Jason McCartney. This announcement comes as both players conclude their tenures with the team.
Stringer hinted at a return to Victoria prior to his 250th game, with speculation surrounding his potential move to Collingwood. Hogan is also rumored to be attracting interest from Collingwood and Gold Coast, who are seeking a key forward following Ben King's expected departure to Hawthorn.
In addition to the players, assistant coach Brett Montgomery will also leave the club after four years. McCartney acknowledged Montgomery's contributions while noting the challenges of living away from family. The club is looking to enhance its coaching staff during the off-season.
