GWS Giants Update on Josh Kelly's Recovery from Surgery
GWS Giants midfielder Josh Kelly has been sidelined from AFL matches since the team's Elimination Final loss to Hawthorn in 2025.
His absence is due to a hip resurfacing surgery performed last year, which involved replacing his hip with a titanium implant. As the pre-season approaches, GWS general manager of football Jason McCartney noted that there is currently no specific date for Kelly's return.
McCartney mentioned that Kelly is making progress, although it is slow, and emphasized the importance of monitoring his recovery. The club will reassess his condition before the start of the new season. Kelly, who was drafted second overall in 2013, has had a successful career, earning an All-Australian selection and two best-and-fairest awards in his 230 games.
