Gyan and Sankaran Triumph at MRF Indian National Racing Challenge
On August 22, 2026, S. Gyan and Saishiva Sankaran secured wins in the Formula 1600 and Formula 2000 categories at the MRF Indian National Racing Challenge 4W held at the Madras International Circuit.
Sankaran took advantage of leader Aditya Patnaik's difficulties with backmarkers to claim victory in the Formula 2000 race. Gyan, who had been in second place for a significant portion of the Formula 1600 race, moved ahead after Bhuvan Bonu experienced a power drop near the finish.
In the Formula LGB 1300 category, Viswas Vijayaraj led a podium sweep for DTS Racing, while Kaveen Divyan Rajapaksa from Sri Lanka won in the Junior category. Earlier, Arjun Narendran secured pole position in the Indian Super Touring Cars class, and Neel Shah was the fastest in Volkswagen Polo Cup qualifying.
