Haas Declines to 10th in F1 Standings After Aston Martin Upgrades
The Haas F1 Team has experienced a downturn in performance, now ranking as the 10th best team in Formula 1 after being surpassed by Aston Martin during the Hungarian Grand Prix. Initially, Haas had a strong start to the 2026 season, earning points in five of the first six races, but has since failed to score in the last five events.
Oliver Bearman, a driver for Haas, noted that the team has not introduced significant upgrades since May, which has contributed to their decline. In Budapest, Bearman exited in Q1, while Aston Martin's new chassis upgrades enabled their drivers to finish ahead of Haas. The upcoming race at Zandvoort will see Aston Martin debut an updated Honda engine, further complicating Haas's competitive position.
Bearman expressed disappointment over the team's inability to keep pace with rivals, attributing the struggle to limited resources compared to larger teams. He highlighted that while Haas started the season competitively, the rapid development of other teams has left them behind. The team has historically faced challenges due to budget constraints, which have hindered their ability to consistently upgrade their car.
