Haas F1 Principal Ayao Komatsu Drives Historic Footwork Arrows A11B

Ayao Komatsu, the principal of the Haas Formula 1 team, recently drove a 1990 Footwork Arrows A11B in a track outing prior to the Italian Grand Prix.

This event took place earlier this week, with Komatsu taking the wheel of the Cosworth-powered chassis. The A11B, an evolution of the A11 designed by Ross Brawn, was used during the 1990 F1 season by drivers including Michele Alboreto and Alex Caffi.

The A11B, equipped with a 3.5-litre naturally aspirated Ford Cosworth DFR V8 engine, achieved points only once during its season, with Caffi finishing fifth at the Monaco Grand Prix. As the 13th round of the 2026 season approaches, Haas currently ranks seventh in the constructors' standings with 21 points, having started the season strong but struggled to score in recent races.
