Hans Aaseth Completes Norseman with Unique Bike Setup
Hans Aaseth, a professional guitarist, recently completed the Norseman triathlon for the third time, showcasing a distinctive bike setup that included a rear-facing saddle and a long pedestal. His race began with a challenging swim in cold waters, where he struggled with a sudden drop in temperature.
After a lengthy transition of six minutes, Aaseth mounted his bike, where he excelled, adhering to a strategic power plan set by his coach. Despite a crash ten days prior that damaged his saddle, he managed to replace it just before the race, although the new saddle caused discomfort during the ride.
During the run, Aaseth faced significant physical challenges, including pain from the new saddle and difficult terrain. He focused on finishing the race rather than achieving a specific time. Aaseth expressed deep gratitude for the experience and the support from his family, who joined him near the finish line, highlighting the transformative nature of the Norseman event.
