Harlequins Coach Jason Gilmore Anticipates Tough Season Start
Harlequins head coach Jason Gilmore has acknowledged that he anticipated a challenging start to the season due to numerous changes within the team. Currently, Harlequins find themselves at the bottom of the Premiership table after suffering two consecutive defeats.
The team faced a significant setback with a 48-0 loss to Gloucester, marking their heaviest league defeat in 26 years. Gilmore noted that while the team is not expected to perform at its best early in the season, improvements are on the horizon.
Having taken over as the permanent head coach in March after a difficult previous season, Gilmore has implemented a new attack system and line-out strategy, which he believes will take several weeks to fully integrate. Despite the disappointing performance against Gloucester, he remains optimistic about the team's potential to improve as they prepare for their upcoming match against Sale.
