Harriet Dart Advances to WTA Tour Semi-Final at Guangzhou Open

Harriet Dart of Britain has reached the semi-finals of the WTA Tour for the second time in her career after defeating fifth seed Paula Badosa at the Guangzhou Open in China.

The match, held at the Nansha International Tennis Centre, saw Dart come back from a set down to win 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 in a contest lasting two hours and 15 minutes. Dart, who previously reached the semi-finals at the Transylvania Open, will next face either Claire Liu or 16-year-old Sun Xinran.

Dart, who advanced through qualifying and defeated second-seed Janice Tjen in the earlier round, faced challenges during the match, including Badosa's strong start and the Spaniard's medical timeouts due to heat issues. Despite these obstacles, Dart managed to secure her victory, expressing her excitement about competing in the semi-finals.
