Dean can reduce the fine to $2000 by submitting an early plea. This outcome allows him to remain eligible for the Rising Star award, which he competes for alongside teammates and other players. In the same match, Saint Liam O'Connell was fined $1500 for careless contact with an umpire, also eligible for a reduction with an early plea.
