Hawthorn AFL Draft Strategy: Key Picks and Prospects
Hawthorn is preparing for the AFL draft with a focus on enhancing its roster, having successfully retained two top 40 picks during the recent player movement period.
The club, which narrowly missed a grand final appearance, is looking to add top-tier talent to complement its existing players, including Zach Merrett and Ben King. Additionally, Hawthorn plans to match bids for Next Generation Academy player Keenan Boi and father-son prospect Cooper Hodge.
Hawthorn also has priority access to AFL Academy players Zane Adams and Henry Allsop in the next draft, along with Charlie Fischer, who is gaining attention. The team has three first and second-round selections, which will be crucial for matching bids, especially if Adams is selected early. The club is also considering adding a developing ruckman and possibly another winger to strengthen its lineup.
