Hawthorn's coach Sam Mitchell expects star forward Jack Ginnivan to be ready for Thursday's finals match against Fremantle after he sat out Round 24 due to back soreness.

The decision to rest Ginnivan during the last round against West Coast was made to avoid unnecessary travel and allow him to recover. Mitchell described this choice as beneficial for Ginnivan's condition.

Mitchell confirmed that mid-season draftee Max Beattie will also participate in the finals, alongside Will Day and Cam Mackenzie, who will experience finals football for the first time.
