Hawthorn Coach Discusses Future Home Game Locations After Tasmania Exit

Hawthorn coach Sam Mitchell has commented on the club's exploration of new locations for home games after concluding their 25-year partnership with Tasmania. The Hawks secured a victory against North Melbourne last week, marking the end of their relationship with the region ahead of the Devils' entry in 2028.

The club is reportedly considering hosting games in Wellington, Canberra, or Cairns. Mitchell expressed openness to establishing a new home ground that could enhance their competitive advantage. He noted that since 2001, Hawthorn has achieved a 76.1 percent win rate in Launceston.

Mitchell also addressed a recent memo from the league regarding player management late in the season, stating it would not influence his selection decisions. He confirmed his commitment to Hawthorn until 2030, describing the contract renewal process as smooth and expressing his long-standing affection for the club.
