Hawthorn to Introduce Max Beattie as Ninth Debutant in 2026
Hawthorn has confirmed that Max Beattie, a mid-season draftee, will debut in the Round 23 match against Collingwood.
The 22-year-old forward was selected with Pick 12 in the 2026 Mid-Season Draft after an outstanding season with Woodville-West Torrens in the SANFL, which included a notable game where he recorded 30 disposals and five goals.
Rob McCartney, Hawthorn's executive general manager of football, expressed excitement about Beattie's potential contribution to the team. Despite an ankle injury earlier in the season, Beattie has recently excelled in the VFL, showcasing his skills with a performance that included 23 possessions, seven marks, and two goals. The match against Collingwood will take place at the MCG on Saturday night, as Hawthorn aims to secure a top-four position with two rounds remaining in the season.
