Hayden Hodgson Ejected for Boarding in Senators vs. Kings Game
In a recent NHL matchup, Ottawa Senators forward Hayden Hodgson was ejected for boarding Los Angeles Kings defenceman Brandt Clarke during the second period of the game on Thursday night in Los Angeles.
Hodgson charged at Clarke, who was positioned just below the goal line, at a speed of 21 mph, leading to a significant collision with the boards. This incident sparked a brief altercation, resulting in Kings' player Erik Haula receiving a two-minute penalty for roughing Hodgson. Clarke was subsequently ruled out for the remainder of the game due to an upper-body injury.
The boarding incident occurred with 8:45 remaining in the second period, shortly after the Kings scored three goals in just over four minutes, establishing a 4-1 lead and forcing the Senators to replace goalie Jonas Johansson. Throughout the game, Ottawa incurred six penalties in the first two periods, allowing the Kings to extend their lead to 5-1 with power-play goals from Haula and Artemi Panarin.
