Hayden Wilde Claims Victory at IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in Nice

Hayden Wilde from New Zealand triumphed at the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship held in Nice, France, on Sunday, narrowly defeating Norway's Kristian Blummenfelt. Jelle Geens of Belgium took third place, followed by Gustav Iden and Lasse Nygaard Priester from Germany.

Priester, who had a strong season leading up to the event, finished just behind Iden. He expressed satisfaction with his performance, noting it was a valuable learning experience. Iden, the previous champion in Nice, faced challenges during the swim but managed to secure a fourth-place finish after a strong bike ride.

Geens, aiming for a third world title, overcame a slow start to finish on the podium, while Blummenfelt made a remarkable comeback during the run, finishing just 18 seconds behind Wilde. Wilde, who lost his watch during the race, relied on his instincts to maintain pace and ultimately secured the victory, marking a significant achievement after several near wins in recent years.
