Hendrick Motorsports Faces Challenges After Darlington Race
Hendrick Motorsports is facing difficulties following their performance at the Darlington race, where William Byron suffered an engine failure. This incident has left him significantly behind in the Chase standings, now sitting 114 points off the lead.
During the race, Byron was performing well until he spun out on Lap 315, leading to a caution. Although he managed to restart his car, it later emitted heavy smoke, forcing him to pit and ultimately finishing in 37th place with only six points.
Kevin Harvick expressed doubts about Byron's chances for the championship, suggesting that the team should focus on supporting other drivers like Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott. Despite the challenges, team owner Rick Hendrick emphasized the importance of long-term success and unity within the team, stating that the outcome of the current season is not the sole measure of their capabilities.
