Hendrick Motorsports Signs Corey Day for Future Cup Series Participation
Hendrick Motorsports has announced a long-term contract with 20-year-old Corey Day, who will race in the O'Reilly Series next year and make his Cup Series debut on a part-time basis.
Day is set to participate in approximately 4-5 Cup races, driving a Spire Motorsports Chevrolet as part of the Corey Day Development Program. This arrangement comes as Hendrick Motorsports navigates its charter cap, which limits them to four full-time entries.
Jeff Andrews, the President and General Manager at Hendrick Motorsports, confirmed that Day's races will likely occur in the middle to latter half of the year. Day has already shown promise in his rookie season, having achieved two victories in the O'Reilly Series and currently competing for the championship.
