Henry Cejudo to Make Boxing Debut Against Nurideen Shabazz
Henry Cejudo will make his professional boxing debut on September 26 in Miami, facing Nurideen Shabazz. This announcement was made by Misfits Boxing, just five weeks after Cejudo's scheduled wrestling rematch with Merab Dvalishvili.
Before his boxing debut, Cejudo is set to compete against Dvalishvili at Real American Freestyle 12 on August 22 in Cleveland. The former two-division UFC champion transitioned to wrestling after retiring from MMA in December, following a defeat to Payton Talbott. He previously won against Urijah Faber in February but lost to Dvalishvili in July.
Shabazz, who is 25 years old, made his debut with Misfits in 2022 and has primarily participated in exhibition matches. He suffered a unanimous decision loss to Amado Vargas at Misfits Mania in December. Cejudo, now 39, will have five weeks to prepare for his boxing match if he remains injury-free after the upcoming wrestling bout.
