Hewett and Reid Secure Sixth US Open Men's Wheelchair Doubles Title

Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid, the British wheelchair tennis duo, won the men's wheelchair doubles title at the US Open for the sixth time as a partnership. They achieved this victory after coming back from a set and a break down against Spain's Martin de la Puente and Ruben Spaargaren from the Netherlands, finishing the match with scores of 2-6, 6-3, 10-7.

This win marks the third consecutive Grand Slam title for the pair, who had not won at Flushing Meadows in five years. Reid celebrated his 30th Grand Slam doubles title, with 26 of those titles won alongside Hewett. Both players expressed their excitement about the victory and their ongoing partnership.

The match began with Hewett and Reid struggling, losing six games in a row after an early lead. However, they quickly regained momentum, winning four consecutive games to take the second set and force a match tie-break, where they ultimately prevailed.
