Hidalgo, Meronk, Luiten, and Detry Lead at DP World India Championship
At the DP World India Championship held at the Delhi Golf Club, Angel Hidalgo, Adrian Meronk, and Joost Luiten have taken the lead following a challenging day of play on Friday.
After losing five hours to heavy rain on Thursday, the trio had to complete extra holes to catch up. Luiten played 34 holes, finishing with an eight-under 136, while both Meronk and Hidalgo played 32 holes. They were joined at the top by Thomas Detry, who scored three-under over six holes played on Friday. Rory McIlroy, a six-time Major champion, was tied for 17th place at four-under after playing only four holes.
Luiten, despite being a six-time European Tour winner, missed the chance to take the lead after a double bogey on his penultimate hole. Hidalgo improved on his previous year's performance, while Meronk demonstrated consistency, nearly achieving two bogey-free rounds. Om Prakash Chouhan remains the top Indian player at four-under, tied for 17th, while Patrick Reed moved up to tied-59th with a three-under 69.
