Honda Aims to Enhance Driveability with New F1 Engine Update

Honda has made progress with its first ADUO upgrade of the Formula 1 season, introduced in Zandvoort, but the company recognizes the need for enhancements in driveability.

Chief engineer Shintaro Orihara noted that while the upgrade focused on the internal combustion engine and met performance expectations, issues with driveability were identified during the race weekend. Honda is working on improving combustion characteristics and adapting data settings to enhance driver experience.

Driveability encompasses various factors, including shifting and combustion stability. Orihara emphasized the complexity of these issues, which require collaboration with chassis teams to optimize performance. Honda believes that while no major hardware changes are planned, further calibration could yield additional performance improvements.
