Hornets Release Jarkel Joiner and Latrell Wrightsell

The Charlotte Hornets have finalized their roster by waiving guards Jarkel Joiner and Latrell Wrightsell, as announced by the team.

Joiner, a 6’1″ point guard who went undrafted from NC State in 2023, had previously signed non-guaranteed contracts with Atlanta and Toronto before joining Charlotte. He played in the G League and averaged 10.9 points, 3.6 assists, and 2.4 rebounds last season with Raptors 905. Wrightsell, a 6’3″ guard who also went undrafted after his time at Alabama, is known for his three-point shooting, averaging 13.2 points and 3.1 rebounds last season. He had signed an Exhibit 10 deal with the Hornets but did not participate in preseason games.

Both players are expected to join the Greensboro Swarm this fall. The Hornets now have 15 players on standard contracts and three on two-way deals.
