Houston Astros Part Ways with General Manager Dana Brown

The Houston Astros have announced a mutual agreement to part ways with general manager Dana Brown. This decision comes despite the team currently leading their division.

Owner Jim Crane expressed gratitude for Brown's contributions over the past four seasons, during which the Astros secured two division titles. Following Brown's departure, senior advisor Jeff Bagwell and assistant GMs Charles Cook, Gavin Dickey, and Connor Huff will take over his responsibilities.

Brown, who became GM in January 2023, had previously led the team to the playoffs in his first two seasons. However, the Astros have not won a postseason game since their defeat in Game 7 of the 2023 ALCS. Brown's notable trades included sending Kyle Tucker to the Chicago Cubs in December 2024. He had previously worked with the Toronto Blue Jays and the Atlanta Braves before joining the Astros.
