HRT Faces Engineering Departures Amid Restructuring Plans
The HRT team is reportedly undergoing a significant upheaval as chief engineer Laurent Fedacou and four other engineers have submitted their resignations. This development occurred a few days ago, with the engineers' departure coinciding with a mid-term review by the team.
Fedacou, who has been with HRT since late 2021, has played a crucial role in guiding the technical direction of the team's GT3 programs. The resignations include two DTM race engineers, Clement Faye and Valentin Planque, who are responsible for drivers Arjun Maini and Finn Wiebelhaus.
Despite the resignations, team principal Ulrich Fritz confirmed that the engineers were present at a recent DTM test, indicating they will complete the season. Fritz noted that the restructuring aims to clarify responsibilities and streamline processes, emphasizing that the team is focused on building sustainable structures rather than reacting to immediate challenges.
