Huddersfield Giants Defeat Catalans Dragons 42-20 in Super League Match
Huddersfield Giants achieved a significant 42-20 victory against Catalans Dragons in a Super League match, celebrating the announcement of their move to Dewsbury next season. The game took place at the Accu Stadium, where nearly 9,000 fans were admitted for free to witness the event.
Huddersfield dominated the first half, scoring six tries, including two from Sam Halsall, and leading 36-0 at halftime. Fenton Rogers, Connor Wrench, Sam Hewitt, and Zane Dunford also contributed to the scoreline. However, the atmosphere shifted after the halftime announcement, and Catalans Dragons, despite being reduced to 12 men due to Franck Maria's red card, managed to score three tries in the second half.
Ben Condon scored twice for Catalans, with additional tries from Leo Darrelatour and Charlie Staines. Despite the win, Huddersfield remains at the bottom of the league but is showing improvement under head coach Jim Lenihan, who took charge in May.
