Hull City Signs Defender Nobel Mendy for Record Fee
Hull City has announced the acquisition of defender Nobel Mendy from Rayo Vallecano for a club record fee. The 21-year-old centre-back has signed a five-year contract, which includes an option for an additional year.
While the specific fee has not been disclosed, it is reported to exceed the £20 million plus add-ons paid for goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis earlier this month. This transfer surpasses Hull's previous record of £13 million set in 2016 for midfielder Ryan Mason.
Mendy expressed his excitement about joining Hull City and his aspirations to play in the Premier League. He previously played for Rayo Vallecano, where he scored twice in 28 appearances, and has also competed in the Conference League finals with Real Betis and Rayo Vallecano.
