Hunt Wheels: A Journey from Startup to Cycling Success
Hunt Bike Wheels was established in 2015 by brothers Tom and Peter Marchment in Partridge Green, West Sussex, England, aiming to provide quality yet affordable wheel sets for cyclists. The company adopted a direct-to-consumer sales model to keep prices competitive, with technical support from their father, John, a materials engineer.
The brand quickly gained traction, attracting Luisa Grappone from Campagnolo to lead its engineering team. This collaboration led to the launch of the Limitless series in 2019, featuring wider and more aerodynamically refined rims. In 2021, the Aerodynamicist line was introduced, enhancing speed and lateral stiffness, which contributed to Hunt's success in competitive cycling, including stage wins at the Giro d’Italia.
Hunt's 60 Limitless UD Carbon wheels have been praised for their lightweight and aerodynamic performance, while the 40 Carbon Gravel Race wheel set offers similar benefits for gravel cycling. The 40 CGR wheels are designed for durability and responsiveness, accommodating a wide range of tire widths. Overall, Hunt Wheels has maintained its commitment to quality and affordability, appealing to both road and gravel cyclists.
