Hurricane Trudy Intensifies as It Approaches Mexico's Pacific Coast
Hurricane Trudy has rapidly intensified into a major hurricane, with maximum sustained winds reaching approximately 120 mph, as it nears Mexico's Pacific coast.
The storm is expected to strengthen further before making landfall on Saturday, potentially reaching Category 4 or 5 intensity, according to the National Hurricane Center. Mexico's civil protection agency has urged residents to prepare by securing their homes and removing loose objects.
Trudy is currently located about 250 miles south-southwest of Acapulco and is forecasted to bring up to 12 inches of rain to Michoacan, Colima, and Jalisco, raising concerns about flooding and landslides in an area already affected by recent storms.
