Hyderabad Secures Innings Victory Over Tripura in Ranji Trophy
Hyderabad commenced its Ranji Trophy 2026-27 season with a commanding innings and 40 runs victory against Tripura at Gymkhana on Tuesday. The match was significantly influenced by strategic adjustments made by Wasim Jaffer from the dugout on the first day.
Tanay Thyagarajann was pivotal for Hyderabad, claiming six wickets in Tripura's second innings, which ended at just 120 runs. After a shaky start, where Tripura lost seven wickets for only five runs, Tanay completed the innings by taking the last three wickets in just over six overs. This victory marked Mohammed Siraj's first win as captain.
Hyderabad's preparation was highlighted as a key factor, having trained extensively prior to the match, unlike Tripura, which began its training only a week before arriving in Hyderabad. With this win, Hyderabad now has seven points and will next face Andhra in Mulapadu, while Tripura heads to Guwahati to play against Assam.
