HYROX and World Triathlon Form Strategic Partnership

Fabio Cabrera, a former IRONMAN race director, recently participated in a HYROX event in Birmingham alongside Reece Barclay. Their performance was notable following a busy October, which included Cabrera's recovery from organizing a cycling event.

As Cabrera returned to Club La Santa in Lanzarote, World Triathlon and HYROX revealed a strategic partnership. This agreement recognizes Hybrid Racing as a discipline within World Triathlon, with HYROX managing championships for elite athletes. The partnership aims for Olympic and Paralympic recognition, following a year of collaboration between the two organizations.

Hybrid Racing will feature three formats: Ultimate, Fast, and Ultra, all sanctioned by World Triathlon. Cabrera expressed optimism about the partnership, highlighting the potential for growth in the sport and the benefits of combining triathlon's established structure with HYROX's expanding participant base. The partnership is expected to enhance the competitive landscape and provide new opportunities for athletes.
