Ian Machado Garry Confident in Rematch Against Islam Makhachev

Ian Machado Garry is optimistic about a potential rematch with Islam Makhachev, believing he would secure a victory this time. Garry previously lost to Makhachev by unanimous decision during the UFC 330 main event in August.

In that fight, Garry managed to land significant strikes but was ultimately hindered by a second-round head kick and Makhachev's grappling skills. Currently ranked No. 2 in the Meta UFC rankings, Garry stated that he feels prepared to change the outcome if they were to face each other again.

Garry noted that he could have performed better with more aggressive striking and improved kick techniques. However, he acknowledged the difficulty of executing a strategy against a seasoned champion like Makhachev. While a rematch is unlikely in the immediate future, as Makhachev is expected to fight another contender, Garry is eager to return to the octagon as soon as possible, ready for any opponent in the welterweight division.
