Ilia Topuria's Manager Focuses on Justin Gaethje Rematch
Ilia Topuria's manager has reiterated that the fighter is aiming for a rematch with Justin Gaethje. Earlier this year, Topuria experienced his first career loss during the UFC Freedom 250 main event when Gaethje achieved a significant upset.
Topuria recently returned to public discussions about his loss, revealing he sustained injuries including broken orbital bones and a foot bone. Following this, speculation arose regarding a possible immediate rematch with Gaethje, although Topuria was initially expected to secure a win against another contender before vying for the title again.
Despite rumors linking Topuria to a fight with Paddy Pimblett due to their ongoing rivalry, manager Malki Kawa has dismissed this option, emphasizing their sole interest in a rematch with Gaethje. UFC president Dana White has acknowledged Topuria's readiness to return and expressed interest in a fight with Pimblett, but Kawa remains focused on the rematch. Meanwhile, Gaethje's future in the sport remains uncertain as he considers retirement.
