Illinois and Duke Set for College Football Rematch

The Illinois Fighting Illini will host the Duke Blue Devils on Saturday for a Week 2 college football game, marking their second consecutive meeting on the field.

Last season, Illinois triumphed over Duke with a score of 45-19. Both teams have new quarterbacks this year, with Illinois coming off a victory against UAB, winning 42-23, while Duke defeated Tulane 17-3.

In his debut, Illinois quarterback Katin Houser threw three touchdown passes and contributed a rushing touchdown, while running back Ca'Lil Valentine led the team with 88 rushing yards. Duke's Walker Eget, a transfer from San Jose State, completed half of his passes for 131 yards in his first game, relying heavily on running back Nate Sheppard, who rushed for 227 yards and two touchdowns. As they prepare for this rematch, both teams aim to build on their successful starts to the season.
