Impact of Monaco GP Ruling on F1 Championship Standings

The FIA's International Court of Appeal confirmed on Friday that Pierre Gasly's penalties from the Monaco Grand Prix remain in effect, leading to significant changes in the championship standings.

Gasly, who was penalized for speeding during the race, has now dropped from third to seventh in the Monaco results due to the reinstatement of his penalties. This decision has resulted in Alpine losing nine points in the constructors' championship, while rival Racing Bulls gained four points, creating a 13-point shift in the standings.

As a result of this ruling, Gasly's position in the drivers' standings has also been adversely affected, leaving him 16 points behind ninth-placed Liam Lawson, instead of the previous five-point gap. His lead over Arvid Lindblad has decreased from 21 points to 10.
