IMSA Places Kevin Estre on Probation After Road America Incident
IMSA Race Director Beaux Barfield announced that Porsche Penske Motorsport driver Kevin Estre has been placed on probation after a late-race collision at Road America, warning that further infractions could result in suspension.
The incident occurred during the Motul SportsCar Endurance Grand Prix on August 2, when Estre and Jack Aitken collided while battling for second place, causing both cars to crash into the barriers. Following a review, IMSA issued a time penalty to Estre's team and imposed a two-race probation for the incident.
Barfield emphasized that Estre is on a strict probationary period, stating that any similar incidents could lead to him being sidelined for the remainder of his probation. The decision to impose probation rather than an immediate suspension was based on a decade of disciplinary precedent.
