Inaki Williams Retires from Ghana National Team

Inaki Williams, a forward for Athletic Club, has declared his retirement from the Ghana national football team after four years of service. The 32-year-old made his international debut in September 2022 and scored two goals in 28 matches for the Black Stars.

Williams participated in the 2022 and 2026 FIFA World Cups, as well as the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. He played twice in this year's World Cup, where Ghana was eliminated in the round of 32 by Colombia.

Born in Bilbao to Ghanaian parents, Williams previously represented Spain at youth levels. His announcement follows the recent confirmation of Carlos Queiroz's return as Ghana's coach ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations. Williams expressed gratitude for his experiences with the team and stated that Ghana will always hold a special place in his heart.
