
Inaugural Race Of Champions in New Zealand to Feature F1 Stars
The Race Of Champions has announced the first four drivers for its inaugural event in New Zealand, set to take place at Wellington's Hnry Stadium on January 9-10, 2027.
Leading the lineup is four-time Formula 1 world champion Sebastian Vettel, who has participated in nearly all ROC events since 2007. He has previously won the Nations' Cup multiple times and the main contest in London in 2015. Current F1 driver Valtteri Bottas, a ten-time grand prix winner, will also compete, marking his third appearance at the event.
Other notable participants include 2025 Supercars champion Chaz Mostert and New Zealand's Hayden Paddon, a former WRC rally winner. Paddon expressed excitement about the event, highlighting New Zealand's growing prominence in motorsport and the unique opportunity for local fans to engage with top drivers from various racing disciplines.
